DXP Advisory
Vendor-neutral guidance for organizations choosing and building their digital experience ecosystem.
Who This Is For
We work with organizations evaluating or rethinking their digital experience platform, CMS, DAM, CDP, or broader MarTech ecosystem. Typically this means a CIO, VP of Digital, or CDO who needs a senior advisor to guide the process, align stakeholders, and ensure the right decision gets made without being locked into a vendor relationship or implementation agenda.
Digital Ecosystem Assessment
Before any platform conversation begins, you need a clear picture of what you have and where it is falling short. We evaluate the current MarTech and digital ecosystem, mapping how existing platforms, integrations, and workflows are actually performing against the business.
The output is a shared baseline: what is working, where the gaps are, and what is creating risk or friction as the organization scales. For clients heading into a platform selection process, this work comes first. Selecting a new platform without understanding the failure modes of the current one tends to reproduce the same problems in a new environment.
Platform Requirements Gathering
Requirements shape everything downstream. We work with stakeholders across the business, marketing, IT, digital, and content teams to define the functional, technical, and organizational requirements a platform needs to support.
This includes current state pain points, future state goals, integration and data requirements, content and governance needs, and constraints around budget, timeline, and internal capability. Requirements gathered here become the evaluation criteria for platform selection, so the rigor at this stage determines the quality of the decision that follows.
Platform Selection
This is vendor-neutral evaluation across the DXP spectrum, from suite-based platforms to composable architectures and the hybrid models in between, to find the best fit given the client's requirements, budget, and timeline. Depending on the situation this can involve a formal RFP process or a more targeted evaluation.
Sometimes it is a full DXP assessment across all capability areas. Sometimes it is focused on a specific capability like CMS, DAM, or CDP. For one recent engagement we ran a parallel two-track evaluation across composable and pre-composed DXP options simultaneously, which let the client make an informed architectural decision rather than committing to a direction before the evidence supported it.
Architecture and Roadmap
Selecting a platform is not the same as knowing how to build on it. We define a scalable, integrated architecture, covering how the selected platform connects to surrounding systems, where data lives, and how content and commerce workflows will actually operate, along with a high-level roadmap that sequences implementation across phases.
This is where platform strategy turns into an executable plan, giving internal teams and their implementation partners a clear reference for how the pieces fit together.
Ad Hoc Advisory Support
Not every engagement fits neatly into these phases. Clients pull us in on specific questions as they come up, and that is often where some of the most useful work happens.
Examples of ad hoc advisory requests we have handled:
- Reviewing vendor licensing terms before a contract is signed.
- Front end framework analysis and technical input for engineering leadership.
- ROM estimates across shortlisted platforms.
- Input on how a DXP could power an adjacent AI initiative rather than being built as a standalone system.
- Market and industry perspective on how emerging technology trends should shape a platform strategy over the next two to five years.
- Advising on org structure alongside a platform selection process.
Digital Blueprint Design
Engagements are guided by a framework we built called Digital Blueprint Design. It structures how we move from ecosystem assessment through platform selection to architecture and roadmap, adapted to fit what each client actually needs rather than followed as a fixed sequence.
